Automatic emergency braking (AEB), lane keep assistance and traffic sign recognition are standard across the D-Max range, while double cab models offer blindspot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. Spring for an automatic D-Max and the conventional cruise control is upgraded to an adaptive version that'll keep you a group distance from the automobile in front.

While the 1.9-liter RZ4E-TC engine remains unchanged, the 3.0-liter engine, now called the 4JJ3-TCX, has undergone several upgrades, including a carved combustion chamber, high-pressure injectors, and a diamond-like carbon coating on the piston pins. This triggered a growth from the old 4JJ1-TCX to 13 PS (13 horsepower; 10 kW) and 70 Nm (7.1 kgm; 52 lb⋅ft).

Unlike plenty of pick-ups, the Isuzu D-Max has some soft-touch plastics on the surface of the dashboard, and there are painted trim highlights on higher-end versions around kit lever, infotainment screen and door cards to visually lift things.

Three medium-sized adults should sit in the back seat in a comparatively comfortable position in a two-story cabin, although the back is more upright and the ground is raised. The 2 outer rivets are far more sculptural and supported compared to very flat bench in the Ford Ranger. In addition, the line has two closed corners and a great glove box, even though storage angle in the glove box is principally obtained with a disc reader for the navigation system on the DL40 and V-Cross models.
