It generated the increase of 13 PS (13 hp; 10 kW) and 70 N⋅m (7.1 kg⋅m; 52 lb⋅ft) on the old 4JJ1-TCX. The 1.9-litre and 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engines were carried over from the prior generation.  
  
Three medium-sized adults should sit in the back seat in a comparatively comfortable position in a two-story cabin, although the back is more upright and the ground is raised. The 2 outer rivets are far more sculptural and supported compared to very flat bench in the Ford Ranger.
